Default No-one seems to offer track cover any more :(

I've used the insurance comparison and been getting as many quotes as possible in my spare time and it seems as though it's impossible to get track cover for my S It doesn't help that it's a JDM import - which rules out Frizzell and Liverpool Victoria (or so thier intro page tells me - let me know if this isn't the case!).

I see some of you have obtained track day cover from Adrian Flux, although they tell me this is no longer available. Could you tell me which company is underwriting your policy so I can double check with the dude on the phone.

Any other suggestions of who might offer track cover? Dorset no longer offer it - they stopped it last summer.

Cheers.

L&V WILL usually insure JDM cars - it's just their online quote system doesn't cater for it!

I could not find a company who would cover track days as well. I think AF were, but stopped it depends on the underwriter though, however i did ask when i insured with them, I decided not to bother with TD cover after all.

You can buy it separately from specialist track day people - check sites like donpalmer.co.uk and other people who do on track things - they usually contain some links

Rahula,

You seem to be right. None of the companies I have tried offer track cover any more. Many did - but no longer. Oh well, guess I'll have to be extra careful!

IMHO it depends which track you'll be taking it to. ie the Ring (on public days at least) is classed as a toll road (much like a derestricted autobahn) so technically you're covered. The drivers argument being that OK it is often used as a race track but on public days its open to minibuses, coaches, etc etc so that's hardly racing!

My biker mate wrote off his Yamaha R6 and the insurance company didn't bat an eyelid.

That said, I always pay c.
