No Delivery Date

Picked up this old topic and wondering if anyone could help.
I ordered my car in July from Chiswick Honda who estimated October delivery date. I phoned Honda UK who said they couldn't give me an estimate without an order number.
I spoke to Chiswick who said they don't yet have an order number as it is an 05. They said they will keep chasing and have ordered one for themselves as well and I can have whichever is first.
Does this seem right or should I push them??

It's aload of pish. When your dealership orders your car through their Sales Department on the internet an order number will be generated. So either they are telling you porkies, or they forgot to order your car and are now scrabbling around.
Best bet is to phone up your Dealership, ask to be put through to the girls in the back office who do the paper work and ask them for your order number. Then call Honda UK and be put through to 'Logistics'.
What colour/spec are you after?

OK, just got off the phone with Honda UK who said that Chiswick will have made the order with them however they need to allocate delivery numbers and they can only do that when they get info from Japan on when the cars are due for delivery over here.
They said I would hear in the next couple of weeks!! I'm getting impatient

Gr8, ignore what I say! It is a pain when most people who order normal cars, get them in a matter of days!

Initaly I tried to chase the order with Honda UK using the order reference I had been given only to find out it had been changed. Honda UK initially said the dealer had ordered the wrong car, but then quickly went back on that when I brought up compensation. I never did get to the bottom of the whole problem.
As a result I have very little faith in my dealer but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive in the middle of next week. Incidentally I tried to get through to Honda logistics but failed.

I get the 'orrible feeling that Honda UK are in a permenant state of utter chaos. It seems Honda Nippon send cars whenever and Honda UK pick up the pieces.......................

If you are intent on buying an S2000 which I hope you are, get your orders in BEFORE March, then you hopefully won't have to wait very long!!!!
