Default No 6th Gear

just been for a blast in the car (1st time since completion) and there's no 6th gear, no matter how much you push to left when changing from 5th it just slips in to 4th. even with the engine turned off it's not there no matter how many times you go from 5th to 6th you always end up in 4th.
i read through old post's were people seem to have had similar problems but no one mentions if the problem is only with engine running (under load).
if anyone can shed any light it would be appreciated.

btw the gearbox is a 2003 with approx 14000 miles use, not sure on it's history other than it came from an accident damaged car.

Perhaps a stray apostrophe fell in there!

Seriously,

there is an interlock, to stop one selecting reverse in error.

IIRC, sometimes, if the gears are forced, this can cause a selector problem. I've not heard of it for years, though.

I'd check the obvious (sometimes the gear lever comes loose!) careless scrapyard removal. You can easily change the detent balls/springs next.

Enjoyed reading the build, BTW!

warranty's a no no, it would get a few laughs if i tried taking it to the stealers,

everything else is connected as should be and the oil was changed prior to fitting

just gonna carry on running it and see if it cures itself although i very much doubt it,
with different tyre/wheel sizes i'm running it still gives about 120mph in 5th, this should be ok for now.
