I have already tried (as best I can) to explain the remote reservoir above Budgie. I'm pissed, I have just cycled 9 miles home in pouring rain and so you are not going to get a long explanation out of me Suffice to say, just stick to the Sports.

The race setup weighs more than the sports so I never considered it

I suspect that is because I could not get the adjuster over the fuel tank to work very well, despite the thicker guage wire I was sent. What is really need is one of those universal joints, like out of a brake bias kit (so I am told), so one length of wire runs straight up from the adjuster, connects ot the universal joint, and then protrudes through the boot trim into the boot, to which the gold adjuster attaches.

You should have bought a titanium single pipe exhaust then Steven, cheaper, lighter and more powerful

I have had more details from AST. Thanks Craig and Mike for the help too. They seem to do the same task as the Nitrons for half price. I got their details from EVO mag this month on their project M3.

I have been sent this additional info:

Springrates Front mainspring 140-60-90 Helper 80-60-20 ,Rear mainspring 140-60-80 Helper 80-60-20

I am still waiting to hear the reasons for the helper springs. They have also given me a guarantee that if I was unhappy with them they will refund the money.

The suspension is 12 way adjustable and the bump/compression is done in one move. They will fit whatever springs I want but will take advise already given on this thread and also the stagger.

Is there anything else I should know?

AST price seems good. Not sure why they have two springs. You may also need the upper "pillow" mounts from them. Couldn't see any data on what the spring ratings are though. Most coilovers for the S have very high spring rates, often too high for UK roads. One other thing to :confuse: is the 04's have very different spring rates to the early cars. The rears are actually lower than the fronts, both rates are a lot lower and rear suspension is also revised.
I understand that the helper spring works on the smaller bumps, potholes etc and as it is a different rating it takes the majority of road bumps without bringing the main springs into play. This allows the use of harder main springs for track and fast driving while the helper does the small adjustments on its own.

What length springs did you go for and what ratings for the 04 mate?
