nothing to do?

do me a favour

how long do you have to sit in your car watching passing motorists before you think

a) that was a dodgy move!
b) look at the state of that car!
c) thieving pikeys!
d) that CANNOT have a valid MOT
e) ah, a trailer with non-functioning lights!

there are a million and one things going on under their noses

that they should deal with before worrying about miss-spaced plates

the other thing they could do would be to get OUT of the car and walk up and down any council or housing estate

where encountering a tax disc would be about as likely as striking oil

too simple though, and targets the wrong people

Some of you have missed the point I was making.

A zero and an O are the same size and shape anyway aren't they?

Its not like you changed that - just the spacing.

Gad's post would be very valid, except that the trafpol seem to work for HM Revenue & Customs these days.

It's far safer & quicker to get

Exactly. No difference between and O and zero.

Trying to make one letter look like another one and dodgy italic fonts are not only chav but misleading. That goes for the S200D plates that some have! I expect the Police to pick up on these.

At best you can say the officer has lost his sense of priorites.

We always get the spiel from Senior police management whingeing on about lack of resources.

What an absolute waste of resources.

Have you tried ringing 999 or local police number lately? "an officer will be with you as soon as we can-but we can't say when because they are all extremely busy"

Busy issuing fines for a feckin misspaced number plate.

By mis-spacing your plate, you are mis-representing (or falsifying, delete as appropriate) your registration number. No different from the guys who use S200 D plates and pretend they say S2000.

You've been caught red handed by an admittedly arsey copper, but vowing to be "ready" for him next time makes you sound very silly indeed. You are in the wrong, FFS!

Keep the plate stock and laugh at him next time he tries to pull you over.

x2

Read my post again.

I specifically asked the copper if I had to change my plate and what would happen if I did not and was pulled again.

He told me that did not need to change it and I'd just get another

Probably best to remember in all of this that the DVLA, if alerted (and they may well be) can confiscate the plate off you.

I believe Boy Wonder had a warning about his and was told the next time he was caught he would have his plate confiscated. He sold it pretty soon after IIRC.
