Not all traffic cops are that bad. Pulled into services on M4 a week or so ago and plod pulls in behind me in his motorway cruiser. It's late at night and quiet.
Both filling up our cars he says "nice car" - I nod.
Paying the bill he's behind me and says" What'll it do?" - honest.
Me - "70 on the motorway and faster than you on a track!"
Plod just laughs and says "Since you've got a non-dating plate why didn't you get one that spells S2000?"

Can only assume he'd nicked his quota for the day and was happy to be at the end of his shift.

Bad luck Nick. A real jobs worth, and sounded incredibly jealous

Ciderboy you should know better. If there isn't an S2000 plate available, then don't bother fannying about trying to make yours look like one.

Don't give the c**ts an excuse. Then when they do pull you over giving you the "I'll show this flash git" routine you can just drive away.

I take great pride in driving past these pricks because I know I've done nothing wrong, my tyres are all legal, and my car is taxed and insured. They can be jealous all they want and they can even pull me over too. But they better have a f**king good excuse or I'll be writing a letter to his sergeant.

Lesson learned - change the plate and keep it standard, or sell it and make do with a normal plate like everyone else. I sold my private plate when I bought the S2K as they really are just chav tat.

I'm not surprised if they got beat. We're shit at pretty much everything.

which is a shame because I have an S2000 plate

Never mis-spaced mine as it looks more subtle this way - it's not obvious it's a private plate so hides the age of the car (which is good ), and TBH I can't be arsed getting pulled about my plate, I've got better things to do.

S200 ONL suits me fine, it's slightly personalised as it's my initials but not a brash in your face "look at my private plate" job

I don't think I'd ever buy another one, and would certainly not change or move characters to try and spell my name.

I must agree with 'StevenM' my response would have been along the lines of :
"If you had tried harder in class, then you could have one of these!"

I had two kids in my Secondary school class who were bullied quite badly.
Both became coppers - one was dismissed for dodgy conduct some years ago.

Enough said?

Sad news Nick - keep the plate and stuff it up 'em.

Steve, that's a very wise observation. These guys usually have a chip on their shoulder about something. A few of the pick-ons at my school became coppers too.

I've only once come across one annoying copper, who followed me and pulled me over by my parents house accusing me of using my mobile.

I wasnt, but he said he had me on video. I asked him to show me, and he did. As he was stationary and at right angles to me you couldnt see a thing due to the speed.

I told him that wasnt conclusive. He said "but you were on your phone"

He finally backed down when I offered him to see my phone log. He said he didnt want to and he would let me off.

How I enjoyed it when I INSISTED I show him the phone log, and wandered back to my car

No apology but 1 nil to me I think.
