Hi all.
Just got a 2000 ap1 to use for track days.
Might just use it all the time when my tax runs out on my daily as its great fun!

Wanted to say hi and pick your brains.

Things to look out for on her?
Best mods?
Cheap parts suppliers?

General need to know things?

From bedford area, near MK.

Hope to see you all at a track very soon!

All UK cars are AP1; the AP2 was US-only 2.2 litre stroked engine.

You have a very good resource going back over the full life of the S2000 in this site to answer many of your questions and I would suggest you have a good long browse to read up on what interests you. There is also a search facility which is good (when working ) You will see most S2000 specific threads on the main board, not in the Off Topic section (but I see the mods have already moved it for you ). Have a look see what current S2000 users are doing and modding.

Main thing is, unless you have driven a rear-wheel driven car before, it is very different from the majority of cars which are FWD and relatively forgiving.

1)Get every fluid changed with good high quality stuff, unless its just been done and your 100% sure it been done,
2)the fuel cap release is on the drivers side door frame took me ages to find it sitting in a petrol station look like a right knob.
3)There is a secret compartment to find everyone has it and some people have own there cars for year and never knew about it
4)Get Aliment done when you've changed suspension and bushes etc
5)DONT BUY CHEAP SH%T, Will cost you more in the end trust us when we say it S2000's don't deserve cheap and they will not like it.
6)Use it,Enjoy it and treat her good and she will keep revving all the way to 9k for you

Aw and welcome to the club mate. The mods are strict on shorting words (Text chat stuff) iv had a warning status for months now cause am a dumbass and cant spell for sh%t

Is there a rule, like fight club, that you don't tell newbies until they find it?

Get your geo checked and set up correctly, it will reward you hugely with how responsive it will make the drive. Check the FAQ out as there is a load of info that is really helpful to get you started on day to day care, niggles and fixes as well as a few cool little things to do like the roof on the move mod.

Modifications wise, it depends what you like and whether you're after show or go?

You should come along to this seeing as you're fairly close too. That way some of us can answer any questions you have and you can take a look around at the cars
