New windscreen.

OK slightly hilarious update - rearranged the fitting of the aftermarket screen for today, the guy turns up too late in the day to do anything, carrying with him a windscreen for an MX-5 !! With an entirely different mirror boss that won't even fit my mirror!
Are S2000 and MX-5 windscreens interchangable?? Luckily he wouldn't even entertain the idea of trying it anyway so he'll be back (again) with the aftermarket screen - or maybe if he can talk his boss around it'll be a Honda one... fingers crossed.

As I told you at the meet, I am with Admiral and got an OEM windscreen and fitting kit from National Windscreens at Cowley - 01865 479263
The windscreen code is 3969AGNV and the fitting kit 3969ASMT
Admiral didnt quibble with me at all. Just paid my £70 excess and that was that.

Make sure you INSIST on a OEM Honda screen!! I didn't initially and then spent over a month pushing them to change it (which eventually they did)!
The rear mirror boss on the aftermarket screen was situated too high up which meant that the dazzle flick didn't work and that when looking through the mirror I constantly had the reflection of the roof lining in my view!

Haha, well..... The guy from Auto Windscreens turned up, and was gone again 10 mins later without changing a thing. As suspected, the aftermarket screen had a different mirror boss, and clearly was going to cause exactly the problems I've read about. So he called the depot to find out the situation re: OEM screens, and has left me to battle it out with Admiral.
FYI, it's mentioned in other threads but the difference is that the OEM mirror boss is kind of wedge shaped, thicker at its top edge than at the bottom. The aftermarket one, while it looks the same, is completely flat in profile (sorry completely forgot to take some pics). I spotted this as soon as the mirror was off, and the fitter agreed it wasn't worth going any further.
What are my chances of getting Admiral to cough up for a Honda screen? I can't see they have any choice, as the aftermarket ones are clearly not the same as a standard part. I still find it interesting that their understanding of the word "standard" does not include an original, factory Honda screen.

He's on his way (only the 3rd time, maybe the glass might actually come out this time) with a screen with no mirror boss, so will reuse my existing one.

OK guys you be the judges. I'm going to give it 24-48 hours to see if it settles back down but if I'm honest I'm not expecting it to, and they'll be back yet again.
Is that last picture a worry too? Exposed edges of the glass? Moulding doesn't even tuck under the wing panel.
P.S. Sorry about lousy pics, cheap phone + rapidly darkening skies
