I got a replacement RAC screen about a year ago as my original had about ten small chips in it. A year on and there are still no chips in the RAC one -- seems to be much tougher than the original. Plus the RAC guy managed not to **** up fitting it, which is a bonus.

i had passenger side glass done on my S by RAC.
1st time was a good 'un. they even wiped off the trim/dash a bit aswell!
they missed a few bits of glass with the hoover, but that was easily fixed and to be fair it was right under the seat where first attempts failed.

From my experience, RAC et al, fit non-OEM glass.
It is generally thinner glass, hence not so expensive for them, plus you'll probably notice the difference in the rain - it's much louder in the cabin.
ALWAYS request that they fit OEM Honda screens & seals - they shouldn't have a problem with this.

But the rest of your post is utter rubbish.
All the auto glass is 4mm and has to be manufactured to the same standard.
Suggest you ask the glass companies themselves.
Louder rain...

I know that there is some debate that Eunos Roadsters have thinner windcreens than UK MX5's for example. I think this has been proved by official weights.
Regardless of thickness (true or not), or unconfirmed internet info, I would still go for a OEM screen if I had a choice.
The manufacture of windscreens is actually a very difficult and precise process.
A snippet I found online:
"Modern windscreens are no longer monolayers of glass but are laminates of glass and air. Some of this aberration can be due to varying thickness of the laminar windscreen caused by the interstitial air-gap being
