Ive got the mother of all stone chips right in my field of vision - there is one more on the screen and lots of 'pimples' from 7 years being driven on the road so think its time i 'treat' myself to a new screen.. and this will cost me

new seal should be replaced when you replace the windscreen to prvent any leaking.

Just get autowindscreens out - they will sort it all with your insurance and it will cost 50 or 60 quid

Autoglass Taunton recently did mine, looked okay for a week and now the rubber seal is flapping about. Just goes to show that my constant whinging about nobody giving proper service anymore are once more re-affirmed.

Who was it that siad recently that "everything is average"?

Just had one done. Second one, there are changes to note on the rubber seal.

Specify that they MUST bring a new rubber seal with them or you'll send them away. I've heard of people having the seal replaced only to find it a mess, a cheap trick just be aware.

Also ONLY fit Pilkington glass it's tougher.

The window rubber surround is changed too, it now has some 'gutters' that run deep at the bottom and shallow to the top. I think that will help stop the flood effect of having the window open while driving in the rain as the 'gutter' takes the water up to the roof level.

Autoglass.
He wouldn't have got home for dinner if he hadn't. And he was a petrol head too, which helped (but not him getting home for dinner).
