New wheels-insurance.
Picked up a new set of wheels to fit, anyone had problems with insurance as they may be classed a modification, tried calling mine but all lines busy

There's no 'might' about it. It is a mod and you'll need to declare it, or you'll risk not being able to claim in an accident.

Yep that was my thought but of course “sorry, we are very busy, all our operators are taking calls, please hold or try later.” Might try at tea time when everyone else is eating.

Yeah if not added as a mod, they will only pay replacement for the OEM wheels.
With that in mind though, replacing OEM wheels is about $800 each But then you have OEM wheels you have to sell and almost no one besides a garage queen collector is going to pay that much for OEM wheels if you try to sell them

Did get through and guy on the phone double checked situation and called back, as long as the same size wheels and tyres (and not dearer! Haha)not actually considered a modification so no charge, noted guys name and date/time of call for future reference if needed so happy days can swop over/swop back as I feel. Might change if I change companies in future naturally.

Will probably get the oe wheels refurbed at some point and swop around as the mood takes me, especially if the refurb finish is definitely not standard, already been done once in a dark grey after someone who will remain nameless kerbed two.
