Fair doos, ill agree with you on the bridgestones, my car has the 17's with new Bridgestone RE050 MZ's all round. In the dry thet are great but stiff walled, in the wet i definately dont have confidence in them, and take it very carefuly.

I'm sure there are much better than the bridgestones for wet use.

For 16s the Bridgestone RE050a tyres are perfectly fine. Been using them for years and they are good in all conditions. About £360 for all 4 fitted.

reo050's are close to MPS2 standards and get good reviews, the re040's on the other hand aren't as good in the wet. had them on the last 4 cars, don't mind them as even in the wet they are still progressive, but they kick out alot easier.

the thing i found with falken 452's is not that they weren't good tyres but on the heavier car they were good right up until the point that they let go, which to gve them their dues is quiet alot. but when you get to that point they weren't as communicative. it maybe on the lighter S2k they are more responsive. if i was going for big wheels and need a tyre that would suit my price i would stick the 452's on. i know loads of people who run them and say good things.

if i was going to track the car and push it really hard in the wet etc i'd possibly go for the MPS2's Vred U S or the F1's. i just wouldn't go near the toyo's

Hi S2K Nut, just had fitted 4 x Falken 452's on mine at the weekend, what pressures do you run?

Thanks

Thanks Paul, I'll increase mine from 32 to 34. They feel a bit strange at the moment, but only done 100 miles on them, so they need to wear a bit.

Yeah that will be the mould release agent probably Nick, I did a couple of hundred miles before they felt ... scrubbed in ... maybe even more than that.
