Had a chat with Yokohama and the AVS Sports are slowly being phased out

Some of the sizes are no longer manufactured.

I have therfore opted for a set of 215/245 R17s for the front and 245/40 R17s for the rear (same sizes as OEM).

I am also buying a second set of rears to store ....... just in case.

Again one of my local tyre dealers, Lincoln, has managed to quote prices that are lower than best internet price I could find (which don't include fitting).

Steven - why don't you go for a slightly wider tyre on the rear?

I have been (mostly) happy with 245s that I have used in the past.

How much difference do you think 255s would make?

I asked about the Yokohamas as well around April, got the same reply.

I also run 215s at the front, same at the back.

Quite a bit I would think. When I was running the stock tyres, the back end could easily be kicked out but now with the 255s I don't get that at all unless I really provoke it. It could also be attributed to the tyres I'm running.

Wow thread ressurection. Dunlops are sh1t, as you have found already Falken 452's are my personal preferred choice on the 17" wheel, good in both wet and dry conditions, there is a thread somewhere.... on the 16" however, well good luck with that I have no idea!

Falkens are not good tyres, people get them for cost IMO. I had a few tyres on my 350Z, and the falkens were awful compared to the others. They dont give much feel at all, have very soft square sidewalls and i found dry grip to be lacking. Were ok in the wet though.

A good set i found was Vreidestein Ultrac Sessantas, but unsure if these are in s2000 fitment (would guess they are though).
