New TTS Kit
I'm thinking of purchasing a new TTS race kit with the 38-81 blower. It seems like from reading the forums there have been some teething pains with pulleys and bearings. I'm wondering if anyone is running their updated bracket and what your thoughts are good and bad about purchasing a new kit today. Thanks

They will happily take your money, good luck with aftersales care though......... unless you are spending more money!
I'm pretty sure that they are still using an undamped crank pulley too.

What do you mean by undamped crank pulley? The fact you have to machine your pulley to fit their crank pulley is a bit of a pain.

The standard crank pulley has a rubber harmonic damper on it, because you have to machine it to accept the new supercharger pulley it then clamps directly to the undamped part of the crank pulley.
They have posted a lot of stuff on here about aggressive harmonics from the S2000 engine and such like yet still refuse to use a proper crank pulley. Seems a bit bizarre to me especially with the cost of the kits.

The bottom mount kit uses the main pulley. Why would it matter if their pulley is dampened or not?? There is a belt connecting it to the rest of the kit so that will absorb vibrations. Even with the harmonics I never had a bearing fail it self, the bearings spun in the pulley's, all they needed was a slightly more interference fit when pushing the bearings in.

If the belt removes the harmonics then why have a harmonic damper on there in the first place on any vehicle? But essentially you are right I didn't realise the race kit was the bottom mount job.

I have had the updated bracket for the past 3 years and in that time I have only had the one bearing failure.
TTS now offer a 2 year warranty on all parts. I was one of the first people to get a TTS Rotrex install in my car and have never had any problems with getting new/better parts as they became available.

I wonder why mattie was referencing the bottom mount kit then. I'm confused.
Anyway I have one of the very early kits, I think it's had a good handful of owners on the forum. It's design is very poor and the 'help' that I got from TTS wasn't great if I'm honest, plus I was given differing prices for things depending on who I spoke to at the company.
