Whilst that is true in theory the reality of a typical owners use is a decent set of springs are more than sufficient.
The eibach spring rates aren't a massive increase and they only lower it ~25mm.
Having spent a lot of time and money on coilovers on a road use S2000, my experience around Scotland, Wales and Europe in both of my lowered S2000's says the Eibach springs are more than suitalbe for most road users needs.
If you are going to track it or want to go super low that's a different game - both more complicated and expensive.
I'd 100% agree on a low mileage car, but on one with 85k, it is likely that they won't last very long after fitting the lowering springs.
individual's choice of "risk vs reward"

My IOM car has 69k miles on of which ~10k is with eibach springs on it. No issues so far and good value at ~£400 supplied, fitted and aligned to fast road spec (luckily no seized bushes)

This is the route I went. They certainly look the part. Paired them with Eibach springs.

Good call if the OEM dampers fail

Burn,

Those look and sound great. Seriously tempted now!

As I've PM'd to some, I'm not yet sure of budget. The car's only worth about £4K and to be honest it's a bit tatty, but I love it.

Thanks for all your help guys!
