Default New struts for UK roads?

I'm thinking about replacing the OE struts on my 2005 as by now they are past their best. There is a ton of info on struts but I'd like some feedback on what works well on the UKs utterly shagged roads.
At the moment I'm trying to decide between Meister-R ClubRace or Bilstein B14 coilovers, or whether to go with Koni Sport yellows and retain my stock springs.
Ideally, I'm looking for a little more compliance over heavy bumps. Not looking to make the car harsher.

To be fair most of us that haven't upgraded / swapped suspension are in this predicament. For OEM, it's probably best looking at the Bilsteins for the same sort of feel.
it has been done to death with various track options, fast road, harsher etc..
Tricky to get the same feel (if there's a thing on s2ks) as stock. I don't mind the slightly softer springs on my 06 as it's less likely to snap oversteer when "on it". If I was keeping mine forever until the engine calls it a day, it would be bilsteins all the way. Circa 1k?

I found the B14's too stif. B16 were much better.

Lots of people love the Ohlins.

Ohlins are a bit rich for me at £2k+. I drove an S2000 was an Ohlins setup 10 years ago and it was very controlled.

If you keep an eye out for Tegiwa discounts they can save you a fortune...I purchased my Ohlins using one of their deals.

They really are a great bit of kit.

Seriously considering some Ohlins DFVs. Everything I've read about them from people on here seems to indicate they are awesome for road use, especially on our knackered b-roads.
Do I bite the bullet or wait until I spot a site-wide discount at Tegiwa or Rennsport etc? Decisions decisions.

If you go with the ohlins I'd recommend Ross Sport, they're an evo specialist but an Ohlins distributer and do good deals on them every so often, I got my set from there Ohlins: Honda S2000 (AP1, AP2) 1999-2009 Suspension Inc Spring - Ross Sport Europe Ltd

I am however one of the rare ones that isn't blown away by the ohlins on the road, I did however go with slightly stiffer springs (12/10), on the track they're great but on the road the Meister clubrace on my MX5 are better.

If you don't want harsher, Koni Yellows and OEM springs would be the set up to have. And kinder on the wallet. I had HSD Monopro's on mine, on full soft, they were a touch harsher than OEM. I don't remember the spring rates, they have 3 flavours, defaul - 10/10, soft 9/7. I wouldn't go any higher than that.

I had Meister for some years , I think their earlier offering. Tried various spring rates , but they never felt as composed as the OEM and certianly if adjusted to stop them bottoming then they felt hard even with softer springs I had ( can’t remember the spring rates now.

swaooed them for a set of OEM with 40k miles on from an import car , they certianly looked in very good condition externally and boy was it good to get back to the OEM for ordinary driving around.

did I read some where the OEM rear spring rate is 5lb ? , think if I ever need new I would try the Koni ones with stock springs. But who knows !
