they might seem cheap but they ca still be discounted. their web sites lists a variety of model years at the moment but my experience is that it's not always current. Give them a call.

Just bear in mind re-sale values, Going to be much less than a UK spec car and much harder to sell in the future.

I was looking at Bob Gerrards also but in the end waited for a nearly new UK model with a few hundred miles, cost me a few k more but probably worth it in long run.
The resale difference won't be anything like the 20% you paid.
In fact almost parity. Those in the know will always buy a good parallel import from a UK seller as they are virtually the same car.

[QUOTE=Gaspode,Feb 1 2009, 09:17 AM] Sorry mate - not my experience.

Was looking to trade mine in last year against an 08. Didn't make a blind bit of a difference, whether I said UK sourced or EU sourced. Same offer of 16K offered.
Not one dealer cared about it either way.

Some members recently posted that Honda dealers were selling new S2000's for around

Chaps... be aware...
EU parallel import is EXACTLY THE SAME AS UK SPEC
The serial numbers are in the UK format
Every nut,. bolt, screw, leather, plastic, tin, button is identical

I challenge anyone to look at my S and find the difference to one PDI'd by Honda UK without looking at the service book or V5.

EU parallel import is a UK car - that has had

a/ A suntan in Malta for 2-3 days
b/ Somewhere else

The Chassis number will be in the UK serial number range ( Check with Honda UK ).

To people looking to part with their cash... do some reading on this before parting with money.

All of the above plus mine has a UK Handbook and more importantly a service book (part of the BGs service). I'm the first registered keeper and my V5 has no reference to it being an import. Honda UK might be aware of it being an import but other than that there is no difference.

I've had warranty work done on the car without any problem. The

I do see a couple of cars here now and then. Sometimes they do bring them down and some fall in love and find a permanent home here in Malta. Others find themselves in storage and back to a gruelling journey along pot hole filled roads to a strangely named ship eventually docking in a cold hostile environment. The cars in Malta are all UK spec. Down to the funky useless headlamp washers.

How insane is it that it is 8 grand cheaper to ship a car to Malta and back than it is to buy it from a UK dealer.

No wonder the car industry is fecked. If they got their act together and stopped trying to rip people off at every turn then perhpas they would sell more new cars...

Ditto for dealer servicing. If it were roughly the same price as everywhere else then everybody would just go to the dealer for work to be done.

Why don't they get this?
