Several people thought my S2000 cost more than a mate's 911 !!
I didn't want to enlighten them !
When I asked them why, it was because the convertible versions of most cars are more expensive than the tin-top equivalents.

Having just browsed this report I do find it odd that people refer to the S2000 as unrefined (or crude/basic etc) this is the most refined car I have ever had IMO - I've had the following in order (incidently it also has the most torque - another aspect that gets critisised):

VW Santana (aka Passat)
VW Golf
Volvo 480 ES
Mondeo / Focus whilst waiting delivery of next car
MGF VVC
S2000

who takes notice of journos anyway ? I know a few and most of them would sell their granny for two quid - so maybe Porsche are giving a back-hander ?
