what about if you get the back end drifting? is there then less stress on the lsd as both wheels have lost traction and are freely spinning (one slightly faster than the other)?

this is getting silly

in a 10km journey your worn tyre will WANT to spin for an extra 100m...

errr. i wonder if his handling is OK now?

If you were really concerned about it you could just do lots of clockwise/anticlockwise donuts to even up the wear

Checked the Tyres & they are E02JZ & are identical to the other rear. Drove home in the rain down a dual carriageway. I got worried at about 80mph, the tyres feel as if they are almost bouncing on the surface, it's hard to explain but the car doesn't feel planted. I feel as if at any time the back end could just slide on the water or any dry surface. Unfortunately I haven't had a real chance to go for a good drive as I had commitments last night & it's snowed this morning.

I wonder if they haven't balanced the new wheel properly. Im ringing them and letting them look at it.

Balancing shouldn't really have affected the handling too much - you'd get some vibrant through the seat/steering and that would be more noticeable.

How did you get the puncture? sounds more like the alignment is out for some reason.. where did you get it fitted?

I got the puncture on dual carriageway going about 60, don't know what happened. Heard a bang then the tyre slowly deflated over about 3miles. I spoke to the tyre guys & they said that it could be the difference in the wear. They're going to check it out.

Had the treads checked for depth, the new tyre is just over 6mm deep, the other one is 4mm deep.

How detremental would this difference be to handling.
