New rear tyre fitted

New rear tyre fitted
Had a non-repairable puncture in my rear nearside tyre on Friday. Got the new tyre fitted on Saturday AM, however the handling is poor I check with the garage before they fitted them that they were correct tyres & they said that they had fitted a few S's so knew what they were doing. I'd checked the tyre pressures on the Thursday & made sure they were all 32 & inflated those that weren't. But checked again last night & the tyre pressures were all down to 30psi.
So my questions are:
Can having a newer tyre fitted on one side have a really detrimental effect on handling (the other tyre only has about 3k on it).
Without a slow puncture the tyres shouldn't lose that much pressure in 2 days should they?
Has anyone else had one tyre fitted and had this problem?
After correcting the pressures I took it for a blast & the ride was twitchy with the rear feeling especially nervous.
The tyre might just need a bit of "running in" or it might just be me.

Tyres shouldn't loose that much in a couple of days, but they could show a bigger difference if they were warm when inflated to 32 and cold when checked at 30
3k of wear shouldn't make that much difference
Have you double checked that they tyres are exactly the same ? They might both say S02, but are ALL of the other markings the same?
What difference have you noticed in the handling?

IIRC (I'm sure someone will correct me if I remembered incorrectly),
brand new tyre needs to be "run in" in that the top layer of rubber needs to be worn off before you get proper grip.
Other thing is to make sure you've got the correct S2000 S02 tyre(ES02JZ).

Yep,
As above, you can lose 2 psi in a matter of hours if the weather is getting colder.
Also you will have a lot less grip on the new tyre until the greasy stuff wears off.
Just go for a long sensible cruise to scrub the tyre, take in the sights and all will be fine after 100 miles or so.

I would say that the handling is more "slippy" at the back. I feel as if I could lose the back end, it also feels a lot harder. It might be my imagination, but I have been a little more apprehensive when putting my foot down in the wet/cold weather.

1. All of the above true - New S02s feel a bit "floaty" for a few days.
2. The weather has been very cold and damp - My car's all over the shop at the moment (S-02's again!!)
3. 3K is a lot for an S-02. About 1/2 worn IME. If it doesn't settle, get the other one replaced too.
