Hello all,
I haven't been on the forums for a while - but the car is going very well and absolutely loving her!

Just a quick question for you guys please.

I've just bought a place in Royal Victoria, so i've finally got myself settled in the UK. Just had a TXT msg from Honda saying that my MOT and service is due shortly. Don't need a service as the oil is still good, as are tyres and brake pads etc - only done 1300 miles since last service (next service is just an Engine oil and filter change).

If I get my car serviced by a Non-Honda dealer, will this void my 3 year additional warranty I bought when I purchased the car?

If not, then I am looking for a trusted garage AROUND THE E16 AREA that specialises in Honda's that can do MOT's, services and modifications etc. Can any of you guys recommend any? I don't mind driving a bit out of the way but who do you guys use?

Cheers,

Ricki.

I would get the service done regardless of mileage as the schedule is 12 months or 9k miles, whichever comes sooner. It won't look good in the book if you have missed a service (imo at least).

Personally, I would get it done at Honda, but take advantage of their pricematch. Get a quote from Halfords and Honda will pricematch it, I just paid £121 for a service from Honda.

Nice car, keep it serviced as per the book, keep it under warranty and it'll stack up well in the market if and when you move it on.

Just my advice.

I used to work at Honda in Sydney, and saw so many horror incidents. I generally try and stay away from dealer services.

For example: my dad's car Accord was serviced at a Honda dealer, and they didn't tighten the drain bolt - so he dropped all his oil on the way home. They also snapped a airbox bolt and tried to charge him for things they didn't even do.

I'm with in 6 mths for the service and only done 1300 miles - so no need for a service, but happy to get it done. I'm known to over service my cars Just that i'd rather find an aftermarket mechanic that modifies Honda's - like Hendy's Performance or whatever, just closer to home. Find they know their stuff better than Honda dealers and apprentice mechanics, and I also want to talk about some upgrades!!

Also, just had this installed - coupled with some speakers and an Alpine CDE-196DAB Headunit. Car is so much more enjoyable to drive now! Installation is stealthy and links up to the stock controls. Why did I wait so long to do this!!

I'm not sure about the door speakers and tweeters. Looks like the previous owner changed them (shone a light on them, but didn't take the door cards off), they are defo aftermarket! Door speakers were Blue, and the tweeters are yellow. I was going to put in my AVI speakers - but rolling with what I have for now. I think i'll put my AVI's in and Amp them a little later down the line.

The Sub is placed under the passenger seat - sounds like it's coming from the boot though. Quite amazed by it to be honest. I've only got it on 1/3 the way up and it's pretty nuts. Obviously depends on how much base you like I suppose.
