Would an ecu reset wipe the map on this kind of emu?
AEM do two units that will work on an S2000, a standalone EMS and a piggy back F/IC. The F/IC is very difficult to set up in the S2000, I had one when I first went FI and it was a POS (Pile Of Shite).

Assuming that you have the standalone EMS it will almost certainly be causing your problems. Again these are difficult to set up properly and there are very few people in the UK that I am aware of that can do this. Getting it tuned properly can cost £hundreds.

The EMS wont be giving you a great deal in gains and unless you plan to go FI at some point my advice would be to sell it and get an OEM ECU. Depending on the model the EMS should be worth £600 to £750, possibly more and you should be able to pick up an OEM ECU for under £100.

Thanks mate. It's an AEM 1052- standalone from what I have read.

The plan now then is to source an OEM ECU and sell the AEM unit and see if this resolves my issues

I'm assuming i'll encounter problems with keys/ fobs swapping back to a standard ecu? Although the car is fitted with an aftermarket alarm so maybe this has been bypassed?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers again

Barry
