You can get them made with any desired text underneath on demonplates.com too, will save you a bit of money probably and they're road legal.
Personally I like them as clean as possible and I bought the blue Euro GB bit on loose stickers that I can put on the plates when going abroad

I actually got mine of eBay for £15 and they turned out good. You get the fittings to go with it but i just stuck then on with double sided exterior tape. I like the black border and added my own personalisation at the bottom.

As I was dropping off my car for MOT recently I overheard an outgoing call to a customer telling him his car had failed the MOT due to non-compliant plates. They offered to make him a new set for £50+.
