Default New here, My First S2000

hello all my names Ross im 20 and im from south wales! ive been in the honda scene since i was 16 always loved them, bought a civic when i was 16, a 2000 spec 1.4i SE, modified it over the years, heres a few pics......

from this...

to this...

loved that car to bits, was my first car and as you can see i spent alot of time and money on it!

i was planning on k-swapping the car but i priced it all up and did the math, worked out better to break the civic for parts to buy another car with a bit more power than 88bhp haha

so i started the search for a S2000 my dream honda since they first came out! i never thought ide own one but that soon changed......

after going to see a few and spending endless amounts of time searching autotrader, pistonheads, forums etc i finally placed a deposit on my second car!

i travelled to scotland for it, flew up from bristol airport and drove it back home, took about 22 hours altogether, but well worth it!

1999 AP1 in Ascari red, full honda service history, 58000 miles on the clock, in standard form! not one mark on it apart from the odd stone chip! it has most optional extras too, well happy with the car

i have my NSX-R steering wheel, EK9 Red stitched gear gaiter, Rays Engineering formula wheel nuts + takata harness left from my civic that i will be installing

any comments welcome

thanks for the comments guys i will be a frequent user on this forum from now on

my dad has it insured until im 21 in spring, i shall be buying parts until i can drive it so i should have quite a bit by then! i dont want to take it out in this weather anyway, its to much of a handful, the backend is always out haha!

for an 11 year old car i am very happy with it its unbelievably clean for its age!

i have quite a few plans for this, ive learnt alot from my civic build, only the best parts will be going on this one

i have my NSX-R steering wheel, EK9 Red stitched gear gaiter, Rays Engineering formula wheel nuts (red) + Takata harness left from my civic that i will be installing, ive already fitted 2 of my parts....

Ooooft thats not going to be cheap to insure at 21 LOL!

Be careful in it and take you're time to learn how to drive it as it can be a little tricky at times (especially the early models).

I've been driving 12 years yet this car still has an ability to catch me out at times lol!

Main thing is to enjoy it but remember its only metal, you're safety is paramount!

Great and welcome, just don't mention AP1 again or you will be flamed. (all UK S2Ks are AP1).

i know it wont be cheap to insure, but ive never had a claim, never had points, never had a bump!

i will have to get used to it in the summer months, hopefully shud make the transition from fwd to rwd in not to much time! i understand what the car is capable of + at my age i cant afford to drive fast incase of the consiquences!

i just thort now im turing 21 it was a better option to buy a performance car to start with, something that has been engineered for what it does, rather than spend endless amounts of money on a 1.4 civic lol
