I wasn't thinking it was going to be cheap, i know how expensive NA tuning is! (Got a 200bhp clio ) Thats a similar set up to the one my friend was talking about, the ITB setup. Seems good!

I was always under the impression that if you modded a car to get decent performance gains, it would be less reliable/less open to hard everyday driving than the stock car

ITB's, Cams, stroker etc.. you could see big gains. But i agree with almost everyone above its not gonna be cheap.
LINK 300hp NA S2000
LINKY 2
can get nice gains with the usual I/H/E & ECU though. Might get better benefits from suspension tunning, weight saving though.
Just food for thought.

True about the TVR but as others have said, stressing an already stressed engine is going to reduce the reliability. Also, you'd have to upgrade the transmission, brakes, suss etc to cope.
Ask foz01 how much he's spent on his getting it evened out. I think he's even said the stock stuff on the S is fairly high quality.
I'm with Neil on modding, buy a faster car if that's what you want.
But, it's your car so you can (obviously) do what you want with it!
