They are both different routes to the same thing... more zing
They're not though

The effect of each is totally different. Power delivery changes etc.

Different kind of zing.

What does it do to the top speed?

Obviously I don't really care about top speed, but I already manage 130 between Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz.

I hit VTEC at 100mph in 6th with a 4.625 gear (Speedo was calibrated at 100 ).

I have never taken it flat out but I would expect no more than ~ 135mph.

~165 ...... but this is because you wont get to 9000 revs in 6th on a stock car.

If you change the final gear you will be able to redline it in top.

Dont quote me on this...

The gears "get" you there quicker, you get to vtec 17% quicker with 4.57r. Plus you sit highier in every gear, thus acceleration is increased to x mph.

AS a result the top MPH is "about" 150MPH on mine but acceleration is increased. But 0-100, providing you launched perfectly and no other factor it would be "roundabout" .5 seconds quicker - which is quite a difference.

I feel it has more lower down grunt and you dont need to downshift when overtaking, it feels faster and "is" according to my gtech.

If you really want to know more information PM me and id be happy to help about all aspects. Also the quality of the installation is essential!

here is a video, that demonstrates a S2000 with 4.57 (and a few mods) and a stock S2000

P.S I suspect this chap is a good driver too

Presumably the 0-60 is slower because you need to grab 3rd before you hit it?
