Default New Clutch Fitted

As my engine & g/box were out I fitted a new OE clutch (from Hendy). Everything is back together & working except the clutch. When I first put my foot on the pedal it plopped straight to the floor. I put my finger behind the pedal and lifted it and it plopped back to the top. I checked the reservoir and it was empty. So I merrily started to bleed the clutch, several times, but all I've got is about an inch of bite at the bottom of travel, not enough to engage gears. I've had the slave apart & all looks fine. I know you can adjust the pedal, would this be necessary after fitting a new clutch?

Is the fork engaged in the release bearing correctly. Mine clunked into place on first depress and had to be pulled up but is now fine.

Is there any sign of fluid anywhere? Could you have not correctly got the end of the slave positioned in the fork and you've popped the piston out?

It'll be the fork or slave cylinder

Thanks for the replies guys. I now have a clutch. It was a matter of holding the slave rod in as far as it would go and then bleeding again. I should have guessed that as that's what I need to do on my Dolly Sprints. Just took it for a test drive & all appears ok, except the speedo isn't working.

I hadn't plugged it back in properly, hence the EPS and CEL lights were on. After reconnecting, the EPS light went out and the only fault code was the speed sensor pulse, which I'm really pleased about. That has now been cleared and no more lights on the dash.

Now to get some wheels.
