I've got 2 lightly used clutch sets for sale. If you're interested I will measure the plate depths for service level (actually I should do that anyway!!).
If it is on it's way out it could save you a packet.

78K here on original clutch and all seems fine with mine
Bite point is a little high but meh - my MG was much much worse, used to have a squeaky pedal but still never ever slipped or anything...
probably just Honda trying to squeeze money out of you - tried to get my N/S HiD bulb fitted today (im supplying the bulb) - They wanted the car for an hour and

My old clutch was very heavy, even after the pivot being greased. The new one is stupidly light: I still can't get used to it.
Maybe it's true the early cars had heavier clutches.

Is something going on with Honda dealers atm?
Seems to be endless posts about people being told they need new discs, pads, etc...
Maybe not, but worhty of note to see if this is a trend.
Judging clutch being heavy is down to experience, and not always a problem. I'd be more concerned with where its bite point is.

lower has it right about the lubing.
Unless it's juddering or slipping leave well alone other prhpas trying a lube job if you find it heavy.
The clutch in our Alfa 147 GTA is way heavier than the S2000 but it's still perfectly servicable.
