I fully understand. When I met my wife she had an old VW Beetle and I had my 1st MGF, after about 2 years of failing MOTs (the Beetle) and increasing breakdowns the Beetle had to go.....but we worked out
we didn't need 2 cars - she liked the MGF, so we got another, which we shared and that was fine....then I wanted the S. We shared the S for a while but she didn't like it, and so refused to drive it. So we got a new Beetle (after an extended test drive) and after 9 months she moaned about it and stopped driving it so we sold it. Then she drove the S again for a bit, but said it scared her too much so she got a Focus, which she hardly used --- we don't really need two cars but she does have to be able to drive the one we have......in fact at one point the focus wasn't used for about 3 months...in the end we sold it.

Anyway after the last 6 months of looking and test driving we've got an SLK 350 on order for Dec delivery - she like that on the extended test drive we had, and I quite like it as well - we had an extended go in a Z4 and there was something about it I just didn't like. Hopefully the SLK will be ok for her........

You guys need to take control a bit.

Jeez, they want a new car - tell them to go out and find a new car, and if in a few months it's dirty/got the wrong badge/last season's colour then tough. Tell them to stop behaving like spoiled children.

Under the big time.....

The new one looks like an overweight Pikachu and (I believe) has an electric hood and is out 31/10. Hence the RX-8 special offer, to make room.

Could you not simply glue on some Bitter/Borgward/Glas/Messerschmitt/usw badges bought off Ebay and tell her it's a rare/exclusive sausagewagen?

[QUOTE=rahula,Sep 30 2005, 10:28 AM]Thanks for the suggestion mate but I have already tried that angle and she is not having it. Women are difficult to please as we all know. I think she also has this phobia about badges. She doesn't like Nissan, Ford or Vauxhall which limits her choices a lot and she claims that the MX5 is too girly (hood is manual)!

She has only ever liked the S, Slk and Z4. Turns out she didn't like the SLK that much having driven it and the Z4 is the only choice as she doesn't want two of the same cars in the household. She is becoming more like me though because last night she mentioned that although the Z4 was good it didn't make a nice noise like my car and sounded like a vacuum cleaner. I also mentioned that the new S might come with tc but she wants one now and not wait until next year. I also tried to explain that if she was to wait until Dec she would get a better deal but again she really wants one now and so I have to oblige.

Women like your wife give a bad name to the female side of the specy and really annoy me. She dismisses things without giving it a proper argument or thought, and that gives you all excuses to say: women hey .
Pain in the ****. Pathetic!
I thought they were all like that?
