What they failed to point out was whether the PASM was switched on, or not.

If it wasn't it was damned impressive that the Stig managed not to spin it.

This is probably why the S2000 will not be directly replaced. The SH-4WD chassis looks like the only option, especially when one sees what an Evo-Stick can do to a Lamorghini!

The S2000 may be the last car one may buy without aids.

I should re-phrase that, really.

The Stig did a pretty big wheelspin at the start of the lap, so the stability nappy was probably turned off.

I doubt Honda will respond though, as has been said the boxster is aimed at a different market.

You could compare the SLK to the Boxster, but again there's a pretty big price difference.

I'd be more inclined to go for a Tamora for that sort of money, which is many performance leagues ahead of the Porsche and Mercedes

And it's got none of those nannying stablity nappies

PASM is the adaptive suspension...... PSM is the stability management.

The Stig wouldn't have had PSM turned on...... if he had the lap would have been a good second or two slower.

What was our wet time by the way...... I can't remember but thought it was 1:32?

I thought those two were about the same price, despite the SLK being closer to the S2000 in lap times.

(Obviously, the list price and the price one pays are markedly different. I like the fact that there is only 1 list price for the S2000).

It damned well should be a more poised car!

It costs THOUSANDS more.

It's also a new design, with six years of development behind it.

If it didn't piss all over a close rival like the S, that has been on the market for a good 4 years, Porsche would be in trouble (and so would whoever designed the new Boxster).

I doubt Honda will replace the car, I reckon they will make a coupe to compete with the RX-8 and 350Z.

I understand that there is a 4wd (skyline replacement) version of the 350Z platform, and an Infiniti version, both 2+2, like the old Leopard.

I envisage Honda scaling down the Legend's footprint, in order to do something similar. More of a New Prelude than the old Leg End coupe.

I understand Audi are doing a similar A5 coupe, too.

Porche...? Pah!
They all look the bloody same. How many models and versions? A couple hundred? How many front ends? 2? ( oh, maybe 3. I forgot the truck )
Just about as bad as the ford crop.
For the kind of money you are talking about ( esp. if you want one with an extras ) look at the sort of other cars you could get.
TVR? choices, choices.
Maybe even a noble???
Now that's a car.

Re, TG.
I did like the way that box went round the trak, but the Merc looked VERY ugly. Rolling all over the place it was.

I didn't see the boxster on the track last night, but I would expect the car to be quicker round the track than the v1. NB Its a
