Any and all modifications should be declared whether you think important or otherwise. This will already be set out in your terms and conditions which I suggest you read. Your insurance may already be void in the event of a claim for theft or vandalism.

Technically it is a mod but these can be fitted by the dealer before it is sold and you could argue that it is not a mod but an optional extra like aircon, alloys, leather seats etc that car companies offer.
Personally I wouldn't bother especially if it's OEM stuff. Most insurance companies don't know their arse from their elbows anyway and have no idea.
Plus the fact insurance companies will use any excuse to load up your premium anyway

they pop up on fleabay quite regular, I got mine for around 100 in the right colour. 400 is far too much for these
