All this makes me really want to start doing all the work that I can for myself on this car; no one (but me ;D) owns a torque wrench in Trinidad. Mechanics tighten until it is either "good enough" or can't tighten anymore.

A lot of Honda's tq settings look frightening, when you see the size of the thread.

I suppose it supports the cliche "well screwed together"

I dont follow.
How does overtightening smash the top off?

Stripping out the threads in the head I understand, but breaking the plug is usually just down to being 'spud handed' and not keeping the drive straight onto the plug socket!
