Going to put an order in, I need:

Microfibres
Wash mitt
Polish
Wax
Claybar set - Bilt Hamber? Soft or original? £11
Drying towel
Wheel cleaner

Glass polish
An all purpose cleaner
Alloy polish/glaze - Poorboys wheel sealant? £12
DODO Juice red mist worth it as a quick detailer when not polishing and waxing?

I have some shampoos, buckets, hood cleaner and conditioner (Only autoglym though), meguires exhaust polish

Would like to put a single order in at one of the major UK detailing sites e.g. Cleanyourcar, polishedbliss etc if possible, not too worried.

I had some Dodo juice blue velvet left that I used on my VXR but gave it away when I sold the car! Doh, would have worked well on black!?

Budget, £120-150? If more then i'll purchase them all over time! I don't want the best stuff e.g. £80 waxes, just good medium priced gear

Can't speak highly enough about Victoria Wax. You apply it literally by hand (no cloths etc) and it comes up with a glass like finish when buffed with a microfibre cloth. It is especially good for use on blacks. Used to use it on my E46 BMW coupe and it gave a fantastic finish. Has the added benefit of a super fragrance too!

Product is one thing, time is another.

If you want to clean and tart up your car, just use some filler polish and then seal it in. You'll get quite good results doing this!

Best thing is that start to finish you're looking at a couple of hours tops.

Otherwise, you need to invest in a machine, cutting compounds, differing mops and applying 50 coats of zaino over 3 months like this fruit:

Yea i'm no detailer, and I don't have the patience of one either! However when I have the products required and they look good, i'll be washing it every weekend throughout the summer. 2-3 hours dedicated a time

I have a BB.

My cleaning kit for this consists of:

Irox-X
Clay
Dodo Juice BTBM Shampoo
Poorboys Blackhole
Pete's 53 Wax (Summer)
Colinite 476 (Winter)
Chemical Guys Speed Wipe quick detailer.
Washmit and Dryting towels
Plush microfibers.

You should be able to pick up all of the above for £80 - 100 and it will last a couple of years.

To start with, give it a good wash and spray with Irox X. Then clay it.

Apply blackhole, leave to haze and buff off. Seal the blackhole in with your choice of wax.

After that it just needs a weekly wash and dry folowed by a spray with a quick detailer.

You'll need to re-apply blackhole and wax every few months. It does a really good job of hiding swirls. Probably around 80% on mine.

If you want to restore the soft top use Renovo.

The roof on the S2000 is vinyl, not fabric. Make sure you buy the right kit.

Cleaner, reviver then ultraproofer. This will make a huge difference to the overall appearance of your car if the roof is looking a little tired.

Wash, clay, glaze (Blackhole is very, very good) and then seal with a good wax. Collinite is very good and durable.

This is the easy method. If you want to do it "properly" it will need a machine polish and lots of time.

Also, use Bilberry "safe" wheel cleaner. Non acidic and pretty good.

Blimey, I just use Autobilt clay from Opie Oils and Autoglym stuff, the new polish for dark cars works very well.

I thought if it is good enough for HM, its good enough for shit Honda paint.

Autoglym is almost never used by detailers, regardless of HM's useage, there's a good reason for that. Nothing wrong with HONDA paint either other than it seems very thin.
