Default Need new Tyres !

I am in need os some new tyres for my 03 S2000, I have been looking the the listed tyre below:

Pirelli 225/50 V 16 S6TH

I have been advised that the above tyre is ideal for general use (I am not after tyres for track days etc etc)

Any comments ?

Any reason you're not putting OEM Bridgestones on?

Who told you that tyre was a good size??

I was always aware that the OEM S02 was a 225 50 16 but had a footprint of a 245 tyre. This means if you were fitting a non S02 tyre then te size should be 245 width to keep the backend firmly planted.

haven't heard any comments good or bad about that particular tyre mate.

the stock bridgestones are fine as long as they have plenty tread and you don't go mad when they're still cold or it's wet.

quote a few folk go for the eagle F1s iirc and seem to like them.

I asked about this the other day - 245 are recommended for rears if you are going non S02 due to the fact that the Bridgstones have more rubber in contact with the road than a normal 225 tyre.

I've gone with Toyo Proxes for my new set (6000 mile out of a set of S02's was getting expensive)

Thanks for all your updates,

Dumb question, but here goes

I presume 245 is a wider tyre than a 225 ?
