Favourite main dealer trick is to say - "your pads are 80% worn, do you want us to change them now?" If you work it out, you've normally got at least another 3000 miles before they need changing.

Mines going in for its 36K service this afternoon and I already know what the recommendations will be and i already have my reply ready too

DIY!

I bought front and rear Greenstuff pads direct from EBC and it took me about 1:30 to fit all 4. Disks shouldnt be much more hassle.

Don't buy greenstuff for the S. They are not up to the job and even EBC don't recommend them.
