Near Miss!
Thought I'd go for a quick spin up the road before I put the car in the garage tonight, so I went for a quick burn to Tintern [digressing for a sec if you're ever in this neck of the woods it's worth visiting Tintern to see the abbey etc.]
The road from Chepstow to Tintern is quite quick and twisty, so I was giving it some and enjoying myself when a deer stepped out in front of me
A few years ago I hit a deer and it wiped out the whole of the front of the car, the windscreen, and dented the roof, and I had visions of the same thing happening again but luckily the deer carried on strolling across the road so I was able to swerve to the left and go around it.
Could have been a very different end to the evening!

I never drive in the North West Highlands at night because of this - very serious hazard up there
Hit one a stag in a Saab 9-5 a few years ago - smashed headlight and large dent in the bonnet. Would have been curtains in the S2000 though.

James - changing the subject for a second, how about this for coincidence - your profile states you're in Stafford, well so was I today! Never been there before, seems like a nice place.

Wasn't in the S - caught the train in the end but thought it was quite pleasant walking through the town centre
