Here's the article that accompanies the pics...
There are people who pursue perfection and go to the limit to get what they want. Mr. Yamanaka, aka Kyanzo, is one of those S2K fanatics with an obsession stuck on perfection and is a true S2K enthusiast who is well known in Japan amongst S2K owners for putting together Japan's first S2K owners club, the SCN (S2000 Communication Network).
Kyanzo's ride is undergoing a rebuild that will strip it down to the frame then rewelded and reassembled. He is also planning to repaint the car (from its original white) to green metallic during the process. There are uncountable number of welds in-between the original welds and numerous additional ones everywhere. With the additional welds and the specially-fitted bars in the front and rear wheel housing, a full roll cage is also being incorporated into the A-pillar and V-shaped bars between the center tunnel and the roll cage and a performance bar that integrates the rear main frames in the trunk. The driving feel is full of unknowns that could only be proven once this project is done and the car is on the pavement.
Obviously this process will give the car 200% more rigidity and hopefully, great handling. Another upcoming project will widen the rear axel for more stability and control. He is also planning to bolt on larger rims with fatter tires which means the rear fenders will need to be flared out as well. A Mugen air intake set and a wide variety of tuning parts are also on stand-by waiting for the car to be put back into shape. We'll be covering this project until the car hits the tracks for a shakedown test.
