Default My03 Bridgestone Tyres

Just order 2 new fronts and 2 new rear's for my MY03 (standard wheels). When I phoned around for a quote I was given a price for an ES02JJZ and not an ES02JZ tyre, apparently the ES02JZ is no longer available from Bridgestone.

Having spoken further to Bridgestone and Honda UK they have confirmed that tyre reference ES02JJZ does in fact replace ES02JZ

Thought this may be useful for others on this forum, espically as it took Honda UK 2 days to confirm this!!

Why the do Bridgestone make it so difficult to identify these tyres? On the one hand we've got Honda UK telling us that we should only use the S2000 specific S02, but none of their dealers even know which one it is

Had tyres replaced all round a couple of weeks ago with ES02JZs from Bracknell Tyres.

I think are probably places that still have ES02JZ's still in stock which may explain why this question has not come up before. Since both Honda UK and Bridgestone have confirmed that the ES02JZ and ES02JJZ is essentially the same tyre I am not bothered about going for the ES02JJZ. If the tyre is not different why did Bridgestone bother changing the part code!!.

I have now had the tyres fitted and they do say ES02JZ on the side walls!!. However Bridgestone mention ES02JJZ on their paperwork.

I have read somewhere that Goodyear F1's are recommended alternatives for improved wet weather grip ..

What does Honda have to say about this?
