My worst nightmare, hole in the roof

Just looking on ebay, is 2mm thick, too thick?
My roof does feel a bit thin in that area when you check tension from outside, but until I see the roof material I cant really decide whether to use it or not, glueing it is going to be a pain especially trying to get it behind the roof bar without making a mess.

Right now I'd put some of that Stormsure Black stuff on there to try and hold it together. I wonder what can be done on the inside to sure it up before it rips.

Looks very similar. I actually bought from Amazon I recall. It was listed as 23x30 Sticky Back Acrylic Felt from "The Craft Factory" but I see that they are not selling any in Black at the moment. Those ones on Ebay look very similar of not the same, and about the same price.

Spies, there's a lot of faffing on the thead in my opinion. Just go and buy some tear Aid and you'll be sorted. The hole in my roof was identical to that and it held perfectly.
It's transparent, 0. Something of a mm thick designed for wetsuits, wind surfing sails and soft tops and costs less than a tenner.
My hole didn't get any bigger even putting the roof down in the depths of January when it was cold but sunny. The tear aid is very durable as took a lot of abuse just stretching and re shaping each time with no problems.
You honestly won't regret it from a cosmetic or practical point of view
