Out of interest, whist there is a lot of snowy weather out there is it sensible to leave the handbrake off and chock the wheels. (I'm on a flat driveway) as I've noticed when I drive away after leaving the car for a week there is a bit of a jolt as the pads seperate from the discs. i can't imagine that is a good thing.
if you are going to leave it on the driveway handbrake off, make sure it's in gear in case some muppet pushes it onto a low loader!

did you ask her whether she had taken it out and left it parked like that?!!
Like I said she drives the Jizz.

The French always used to leave the handbrake off.
Because they park by ear & lengthen inadequate parking spaces, it reduces parking damage.
Heavier, expensive cars used to have a set of parking drums concealed in the rear top hats. BMW springs to mind.
Some now use a second pair of calipers, with a more appropriate leverage ratio to a forearm than a foot.

I apply the handbrake a little and always leave the car in gear, I always dip the clutch in any car before starting, it reduces the load on the starter. In fact some Hyundai would not start unless the clutch pedal was depressed.

Yeah, mine's a JDM 2001 and it won't turn over unless you dip the clutch.
The handbrake binding onto the rear discs was the first domino in the chain of events that led to my car running away and nearly killing me the day I got it.

Bought an insurance write off from a salvage yard, they put it on the low loader with forks.
When I got back to my place I couldn't get it off the trailer because the back brakes were bound on.
I hooked the front towing eye onto the winch took up the slack and hit the brake disks with a brass drift and hammer.
The brakes unbound; I started lowering the car off the loader but one wheel rotation later it bound again.
This time I got a rope on the underside of the back of the car and pulled it down while my mate lowered it with the winch controller.
At this point the towing eye snapped off and the car came right for me.
I pooped my pants, tried to hold it for about a picosecond and then gave up and went for the old dive and roll.
Car rolled backwards off the loader and into a concrete post.
