Unhappy My Nuts....

Its a crappy picture but its getting worse..... the coating on my nuts is shot and they are making my wheels look crap

My options are:
1. replace with new non-locking nuts (i have 4)
2. replace with CHEAPIES OFF EBAY
3. replace with (low profile) McGuard or Honda ones

Has anyone come across this recently?

I guess what i'm trying to say is WWJD?

I have one starting to go like that as the black cap fell off somewhere.

Don't want to pay a fortune to replace them though and I only have 2 left on the car

Wouldn't bother getting Honda one's again - they've been a PITA, had to call the AA out once when one sheared - it had been put on so tight

Group buy?

You took the words right outa my mouth......

I'm thinkin anything low profile and shiny. (McGuard most likely)

I tried to swap the ones off my beater but they are twice the size and sat out like a sore thumb

There probably wont be enough demand for a GB, so does anyone have an opinion on the ones to go for and where to get them?

I always remove locking nuts as soon as I buy a car - they're more trouble than they're worth IMO.

I consequently have a set for the ATR and a set from my S2000 in the garage if you want to buy a set from me. I guess the ATR ones will be in pretty good condition as they are covered with hubcaps

So you have no locking wheelnut on your car?

Would that not make it alot easier for scum to steal your wheels?

Maybe i should just remove the locking WN's

The S2000 is garaged and I live in a nice rural area.

I'm sure anyone desperate for the wheels could get past the locking nuts quite easily anyway. I can't remember the last time I heard of someone having OEM wheels stolen.

i had the same problem with mine about 4 years ago, and one night when i got into work i realised i was starting to get a flat, so went to take the locking nut off and it sheared off, went and looked at the others and they were all brittle to. So it was lucky i was at work as used some equipment we had to remove the locking nuts, but that still took a while.

From then on i have never used locking wheel nuts, if someone wants your wheels that bad they will have them anyway. Or just buy some decent locking nuts

My locking nuts have started to do the same, should really think about replacing them before the winter sets in properly. How much are these McGuard ones everyone's talking about?
