I've never known a car with such a variety of nasty common issues!

I noticed the #2 injector seal didn't look right, so maybe an air leak there would explain everything. Except I've spent the last hour taking out all the injectors, replaced that seal, swapped the #1 injector, and it's exactly the same.

If I'd lost a cylinder, then it wouldn't be intermittent. Same goes for the valve clearances surely.

I guess I need to look at the plugs. But my feeling is it's still the injectors and cleaning didn't do much good, and all I'm doing now is swapping around faulty ones. I've already had to buy one new set of S2000 injectors in my lifetime, I don't really want to do it again.

did you reset the CEL light before testing coil packs again ?

defo need to check the plugs, gab etc,

the only other option is getting the injectors flow tested

compression test

also is it stock ecu or aftermarket

My guess is its the plugs.

You could have a plug with a cracked ceramic.

You say the misfire is at higher speeds, the demand on the plug increases with engine speed, if the ceramic is cracked then you will lose the spark or the spark might arc elsewhere.

Its something i have seen quite often at work which the same type of sympton.

MB has obviously never driven or owned a vintage Mopar...

My Road Runner had more common faults than things that worked.

I said exactly the opposite. It runs okay at higher engine speed.

I've removed the plugs. #4 seemed to have been slightly cross threaded, and wasn't in tight - which is a worry. It also had some oil around its thread.

They all have a burn mark around the top of the white bit above the nut. So what does that suggest?

Other than that they looked okay to my untrained eye. I got #4 back in tight this time, but it's of course made no difference to anything. And so far I can't get the CEL back to work out which is misfiring.
