My MCB's looks are going to the dogs
Hmmm,
Cleaned the car on Sunday as it was closer to Monte Carlo Black and a definite embarrassment. Came up a treat and felt proud again
Then on Tuesday it's falling apart.... Ok not that serious but the cap covering the tow/pulling point on the rear of the car had mysteriously disappeared. So the question is:
Is there a high demand for these on the black market?
or,
A shoddy bit of plastic that decided to fall off when I wasn't looking?
So with the Aero dynamics of my rear end unbalanced I expect to get more tail out activity. But should I wish to replace said piece of shoddy plastic any ideas on costs?
Cheers

99p for a new one from my Honda dealer.
Check the bumper for marks though. It must have had a bump to make it pop out. I've got too tiny marks on the plate surround from where mine happen. Twats who can not parrallel park were the likely culprit.
As for the car balance, I would take it easy if I were you.

Just gotta sort the few scratches on the doors now from the considerate people who think my car is an aid to helping their door stop when opened too fast
Only a few but they really do show up on an MCB.

I never had any bad scratches on my old MCB, but found that using Meguiars Scratch-X followed by Turtle blue coloured polish, then Zymol was pretty effective at dealing with them. Be careful with the Scratch-X though - don't get carried away .......

S2KScots (Douglas) had his fall off due to the large quantity of speed bumbs around his house (it really is ridiculous, you nee a Monster Truck to get round there)
Anyway he asked if I didn't mind making a detour and following him round the estate so he could look for it.
No problem said I so we promptly went on a tour of his estate.
He sees the plug laying in the road and pulls in at a lay by. Gets out of the car just in time to see me pull up behind and run over it
ooops

They usually pop out after taking a bump, that's how mine got lost. Check that no one has hit you while you were parked up.
I've yet to replace mine, it feels like an awful lot of effort having to order a small piece of plastic
They come pre-painted so make sure the part number above relates to the correct colour.

The paint quality is poor too IMHO

- Meguires Speed Glaze (mild abrasive qualities applied with Random Orbital Sander...with polish attachment)
- Poorboys E-XP
- P21S
See Rahula's polish thread.
Very rewarding on the dark colours
