My first service
With my first service imminent I went down to my local Dealer Crown Bushey and enquired about couple of things.
Shocker number one according to technical guys there, the S2000 comes with synthetic oil from factory??? No really he said it three times.
Moly additive, he didnt have a clue. He seemed oblivious to the fact that they come with mineral oil plus moly additive.
Number two, stated that the differential oil used would be not the GL4/5/6 type stated as in the manual but some other type.
Number three, (tech sales guy number 2) tried to reassure me by stating that there is a lot of misinformation around, when I mentioned S2KI.com. Basically he very kindly fobbed me off.
Having serviced every car I've owned I'm no fool. This is the one time I'm forced to go main dealer and I'm not happy, and this is before I even had any work done.
My solution is to buy all the oil and take it to them and pay for only labour.
I'm sure many people have done this so I would be grateful if anyone could remember the prices you paid for labour on your first service, I'm also sure many of you guys have been to Crown Bushey.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Who did you talk to there? They know me very well, and I am a VERY good customer of theirs
Follow my advice, speak to Lee on the service counter (or Martin the service manager) and ask for Jorge to work on your car. Tell them Ian sent you
Crown are the best dealer I have ever used.
What do you mean "Can someone get me a Honda stamp?"

I spoke to someone called Keith, who was a really nice guy just misinformed.
Many thanks for the info AE. I'll instruct them when I book it in for a service.
BTW "Get me a Honda stamp" was my own brand of humour I guess, as thats all we're paying for really isnt it.

I'm sure I read on here somewhere that MY05s come with synthetic as the factory fill.
Someone will no doubt correct me if I remember wrongly.

This concerns me as I have a bottle of mineral oil sitting in the garage waiting to top up when the need arises...
