All 2008 (UK spec) cars came with a factory fitted CAT1 alarm.

Sorry. Were EU cars fitted with a CAT1 alarm?

The only things that are concerning, is if you bought this from a main Honda dealer they will know if the car was originally UK supplied or not. If you give Honda UK the VIN they can tell you exactly where it came through.

If the car was originally supplied from outside the UK, but in the EU, it will still be UK spec. However, the warranty will start from the date of original supply, not first registration in the UK. The other big thing is the fact that Honda UK will not give a toss about you or your car after the original warranty expires. There is no possibility that they will provide good will for anything that they may have on a UK supplied car. This means that once you have the true warranty period make sure that you have all the 'normal' issues taken care of, such as abnormal hood wear, etc.

I have a similar issue in that I bought my car from a main dealer who would have known that the car came through Cyprus, but they showed my an HPI check that shows UK as first registered (which it was) and DVLA docs showing UK first registered (also correct) but failed to tell me the car came through Cyprus. This caused an issue when I pointed out abnormal wear on my hood on the day the original warranty ran out and Honda UK would not authorise the repair. The dealer saw the error of their way and sucked up the cost of a replacement hood.

Did 2008 UK cars come with speakers in the roll bar as standard ? Do UK cars have any controls for the audio actually on the steering wheel- I have seen photos showing 3?control padels fitted to the wheel.

Which bit of Euro imports of this age were supplied to full UK specification did you not get?

There was a spec change in 06 but some EU imports were pre 06 models registered later.

I can't imagine why they would fit audio controls to the steering wheel as standard given you can reach most of the controls with your fingers without your hands leaving the wheel...

That's good. You don't need them. They're all easily accessible anyway from your right hand.
