Doesnt the Mugen have an airbag? Or is the steering angle sensor near the boss?

Airbag has to be disabled as the Mugen wheel doesn't have one. Not sure why VSA has to be disabled

Mugen steering wheel is not sold with a boss. MB, I think the OP refers to SRS delete

Do you have a workshop manual for the MY06 on? It must be the steering angle sensor.

Hmmm, sounds like there is something in the steering shaft on VSA cars. Looking at some of the Works Bell stuff, they say it will not fit on VSA cars. Another reason not to buy a VSA car

Honda blurb says VSA controls the traction of each wheel in over and under steer conditions, so I guess it needs to know what way the front wheels are pointing.

Yep but it's normally done on the column in the engine bay. There must be some gubbins in the wheel though.
