Ian's right - I have a Mugen oil cap - the secondone, which is mainly for iVTEC engines as oil fill surround is smaller so the cap is higher for easier access.

I love these mug cap threads. Refer back in
time, many an argument has been had over them. Still think the whole thing is 'tarty' nonsense but people told me about the changes they bring. Conversly, these same people then state in order for performance gains many components must be changed in unison. I think the 40 quid for an oilcap comment sums it up. Totally bemused by why anyone would want to spend this on something that can only be seen when the bonnet is popped.

EDIT: TYPED ON PDA!

Well, whether you want a 'brand' replacement or not, the standard plastic one has been known to break and come off on several cars, as well as lose it's gasket. A metal cap with a decent integral rubber gasket is an improvement. Of course, you could put a

I`ve had tonnes of cars, never had an oil cap release.

I just guess the Honda ones are shite then. If an oilcap removes itself I`d say it`s not fit for purpose - something to take up with the manufacturer. No need to buy another.

Ask Honda if `their` oil caps are good enough. See what response you get.
