There is no need to remove the bonnet.

I have done a couple of these with the bonnet on the car.

Good point TM.

The Dremmel disc I used was a grinding disc and as TM has mentioned it creates a heck of a lot of swarf, so make sure you cover everything up beforehand.

I used a disposable plastic decorating sheet (bought from Homebase).

Same bits as me too

The intake doesn't sound any different, the exhaust sounds a bit louder, but sounds very good.
Thanks for everyone's advice - much appreciated.

Strangely it was the intake sound that convinced me to go for the Mugen!

In chrisr111's S the overall sound of the car was massively different from my standard S - certainly in VTEC - much louder and with a harder edge to it. Chris has the Mugen exhaust manifold fitted too but I would not have thought this would play a major part in the aural experience...

With respect to fitting, my instincts were to take the bonnet off - but I may rethink that.

chrisr111 - I might take you up on the kind offer of help... this weekend looks to be out now, but I'll let you know when I plan to start.

MB, the intake is much louder/nicer on my 07 car than it was on my 03 car for some reason - perhaps the ECU and DBW changes have made the difference???

There could be something in this - there's is a definite flat-spot/hesitation at low-ish revs in my '07 under certain load conditions, so something's changed.

Just ordered a Buddy Club CF Aero bonnet so no hacking required.

Probably just as well - anything combining cars and cutting usually ends in blood-shed on my part...
