Default Mugen engine mounts

Does anyone know if the Mugen engine mounts are fluid filled like the OEM mounts or are they just a stiffer rubber compound with no fluid in them?

ps. dont say try the Yank forums - they dont know either.

I know this don't answer your question but phil2k had some updated engine mounts on his turbo setup.

Might be worth giving him a PM. I don't think they were Mugen though.

Mugen are fluid filled aswell.

The innovative ones are poly with different mounting brackets included. These are the ones phil had and I will be getting.

I know in the current market place there are makers such as Hardrace - Innovative which supply replacements and one of the issues that can arise is not knowing how compliant the bushes are?

I know how compliant the Mugen bushes are in general as I've probably got every bush on the car Mugen'ised and they just give me what I want on 'my' car.

Replacing bushes where ever they may go has an impact on the car in one way or another and to do it correctly takes time and knowledge of how they interact with other components, its not just 'lets throw a set on' scenario and it will be ok.

So while there are other replacements on the market I'm a bit reluctant to go with one of those alternatives until I can find out about the Mugens.

Nigel there is a guy on the forum who works for Mugen (UnlimitedPower I think) who might be along shortly.

Failing that ChrisR will know!

But Adrain seems fairly sure.

I'm sure I have seen a set and read on here about them being fluid filled like oem on multiple threads. They are similar compliance to OEM but hold the engine at slightly different angle to the standard ones for some reason.

Already been down that route - Kings don’t know, only that they are made from quote '120% stiffer rubber compounds'

Some people are saying they are filled and others are saying they aren’t - but the majority just don’t know and surmise/guess.

Call Mugen Euro and speak to Rob Esposito 01604 591040. He may not have the answer to hand and will need to ask Japan. They are a very helpful bunch
