Okay its sounding good, I feel a lot happier now, thanks guys, so it sounds like a small price to pay for a performance improvement. One point though, if Honda have built the engine to run hotter then wouldnt reducing the temperature its running at change the tolerance on the components and so cause more engine wear?

Spoon do similar mods for cooling. Easier to get hold of and S2KUK members can get a bit of discount

Did wonder about their effectiveness. Sounds like they should go back on the wish list

It was actually I who said on no account go for the ECU without the cooling mods, for the reasons described.

But Steve was there though!

Can't help with the confusion over mixing and matching other bits though, other than it can turn out to be a bloody nightmare.

I would probably just plagiarise Brian's work though!

IMHO the cooling mods only really improve heat soak in traffic and induction temps on very hot days! I'm sure there is a "turtle" thread somewhere with all the detail!

[QUOTE] Oh and he winced when I told him I had 18" alloys, seems the car is too light for these kind on wheels and so the walls don't get squeezed down enough to give you full grip on the road

Sorry Nick, you and Steve look so similiar I get you both confused

I need to do a search on Brians threads, I don't feel Chiswick Honda, who are installing it know shit and I want to make sure there are no short cuts.

Mikey, I'm pretty much agree with you on the wheels, need to get them aligned though

Sounds like to me! I have 255 18"'s on the back and I struggle to get the back to let lose, it has also never slipped in the wet! The walls don't squeeze down!
even when ambient is 5-10deg C, you can see intake temps on a stock inlet of 35-50+C...which is equivalent to 8-10% power loss versus if you really could get ambient temps into the engine...

that's why the engine always feels so sharp and punchy when you first start it up..only for it to get progressively more dopey is it warms up and the intake temps rise.

Dan reckons all of this will squeeze another 40HP out of the car!
Wow I almost pissed myself then phew!! That tuner has just lost any credabilty with me for saying that!!

I am as some people know finding it hard to yet meet a straight talking tuner that won't give you figures on how much power your car will produce after they have played with it.

A stock S2000 with a de-cat and AEM EMS "WILL NOT" give you 40bhp over standard, unless you completely rebuilt the full engine. I have the AEM EMS and about an extra
